Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster Was Officially Established

In order to implement the "three transformations" of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the important instruction of the 19th National Brand Development Strategy of "creating a batch of world-class advanced manufacturing clusters", China Council for Brand Development has approved the establishment of 59 international advantageous brand clusters, including packaging and printing brand clusters. It aims to cultivate outstanding brand enterprises in China's packaging and printing industry, help enhance international competitiveness and influence, and promote China's outstanding packaging and printing brands to the world.

China Council for Brand Development is the only national social organization engaged in brand building approved by the State Council and registered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. It was jointly launched by five units, namely Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and China Central Television in June 2013, and is subordinate to the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. On the basis of obtaining the status of ISO/TC 289 Secretary State of the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee on Brand Evaluation in 2014, it led the release of the international standard ISO 20671: 2019 Principles and Foundations of Brand Evaluation in 2019, further controlled the international discourse of brand evaluation, and will lead the release of the Chinese from 2023 "World Brand List".

On the evening of November 25, 2022, a preparatory meeting for the packaging and printing brand cluster was held online. Liu Pingjun, Chairman of the Advisory Group of the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee on Brand Evaluation/Chairman of the China Association for Brand Building Promotion/Former Director of the National Standards Committee, Ma Lincong, former President of the China Institute of Standardization/Vice President of the China Society of Technology Economics, Wu Wei, President of China National Brand, Xu Wencai, Chief Expert of the Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster/Former Vice President of Beijing Printing Institute, Qi Yansheng, Dean of the School of Printing and Packaging Engineering, Beijing Printing Institute, and representatives of 35 first cluster companies attended the meeting, and Chen Yan, Founder & CEO of ELE007, presided over the meeting as the Secretary General of the Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster.

Cao Guorong, Executive Secretary General of the Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster/Professor of Beijing Institute of Printing, made a report on "the statute of the Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster, management methods; the first batch of members of the Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster, the list of experts, the rotating chairman, the secretary general and other personnel and organizational structure; the main work of the Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster in 2023", and the meeting voted on it.

Zhou Yunjie, Chairman of ORG Technology Co., Ltd. and Yao Yi, President of Lingyun Light Technology Co., Ltd. delivered speeches as representatives of the cluster members.

On November 26, 2022, the Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster was officially established at the Chinese Fashion Brand Conference (Quanzhou) and Silk Road Brand Overseas Chinese Business Matchmaking Conference. Chen Yan, Secretary General of the Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster, went on stage to accept a plaque for the Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster issued by Liu Pingjun, Chairman of China Council for Brand Development.

In the past nine years, China Council for Brand Development, approved by the State Council, has established 59 brand clusters and international advantageous cluster brand alliances. China National Brand is the only authoritative information publishing platform in the field of branding in China, which is based on the brand theory of "quality, service, technological innovation, intangible elements and tangible elements" and serves the brand building work in various fields in China.

The Packaging and Printing Brand Cluster Secretariat is attached to the China National Brand, which provides comprehensive support for brand activities in the packaging industry and promotes packaging and printing brand building work of great significance, not only to improve the brand management ability of packaging enterprises, build corporate brand image and raise industry brand awareness, but also to serve the national development strategy and help push Chinese brands to become larger and stronger and go global.

Packaging industry is an important part of the national economy, which is not only related to the safety of storage and transportation of industrial and agricultural products, but also involves the classification and recycling of packaging waste and environmental protection, and plays an important role in the sale and circulation of goods. Packaging printing not only provides inspiration and instructions for the circulation, sale and use of products, but also relates to the people's livelihood security and life safety. After more than four decades of rapid development, the production scale, production efficiency, packaging quality and social influence of the packaging industry have been continuously enhanced. Packaging and printing brand cluster members are recognized by industry authorities and peers, most of the enterprises are already well-known brands in the domestic packaging industry, and some of them have a certain influence and popularity abroad, but to become a truly international brand, technological innovation with intellectual property rights should not only be valued, but also the brand and service of enterprises should be paid attention to. The packaging industry still has a low degree of industrial concentration, not many international advanced key technologies, lack of brand awareness and other major problems.

According to the relevant departments, 20% of the developed countries' well-known brands occupy 80% of the global market share, the international market has risen from price competition and quality competition to brand competition, and the brand value plays an important role in the global value chain system.

The packaging and printing brand cluster, in accordance with the requirements of the China Council for Brand Development, takes quality as the foundation, innovation as the soul and brand as the goal, organizes the development and training of brand value evaluation standards in the packaging and printing industry, does a good job in the work related to anti-counterfeiting and product tracing of commodity packaging, and strives to cultivate the leading backbone enterprises in the packaging and printing brand cluster by leading the development of group standards with international advanced level into China's well-known brands and internationally renowned brands, further expand domestic and international markets, and lead the high-quality development of the industry and enterprises with brands!
