The “ORG Ledong” Scholarship award ceremony was held on December 11th at the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC), bringing warmth and sunshine to students during the winter season. The event was attended by Chen Ying, General Manager of ORG Group’s Human Resources and Administration Management Center, Zhang Gaimei, Party Secretary of the School of Printing and Packaging Engineering at BIGC, Qi Yuansheng, Dean of the School, Zhao Yuan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Wang Binglan, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Printing and Packaging Engineering, and Zhang Fubin, Director of the Student Affairs Office.
The “ORG Ledong” Scholarship project, established by ORG at BIGC, is a special charitable initiative designed to support exceptional students who demonstrate academic excellence, good moral character, and self-motivation, despite facing financial difficulties. The scholarship’s timely arrival underscores ORG’s dedication to nurturing and developing talented individuals for the industry. By enabling students to focus on their studies and growth, and continuously supplying talented individuals to the industry and the country, ORG showcases its social responsibility as a leading enterprise in the metal packaging industry through concrete actions.
This year, the “ORG Ledong” Scholarship was awarded to a total of 12 students. School leaders and teachers expressed their gratitude and support for the scholarship initiative. Dean Qi Yuansheng emphasized the event’s significance, noting that it not only helps underprivileged students overcome financial obstacles in pursuing their education but also promotes cooperation and exchange between the school and the enterprise in industry-university-research collaborations. These collaborations, he added, will help more students secure employment opportunities in the future.
The student representative expressed sincere gratitude to ORG for its emphasis on and cultivation of talents in the printing and packaging industry. The representative stated that the scholarship serves as an affirmation of the students’ achievements and helps clarify their career direction. The students, the representative added, will cherish every opportunity, continuously accumulate experience, and lay a solid foundation for their future engagement in the packaging industry.
During the award ceremony, Chen Ying engaged in a friendly exchange with the students, sharing insights into ORG’s development:
Charting a Progressive Business Model and Development Path: Over the past 30 years, ORG has experienced significant growth in terms of scale, expanding from a team of just a dozen people to a workforce of over 4,000. The company’s business has also evolved, transitioning from producing only three-piece cans to now offering a diverse range of products and services, including two-piece cans and filling services. This transformation has positioned ORG as a comprehensive packaging solution provider for its customers. Moreover, ORG has adapted to the changing times by initiating a close-service model, continuously meeting the evolving needs of its clients.
Promoting High-Quality Development in the Metal Packaging Industry through Continuous R&D and Technological Innovation: ORG’s products have continuously improved not only in “visible” aspects such as can shape and printing but also in “invisible” aspects, where the company remains at the forefront of the industry. These include the application of thinner metal material, the research and development of laminated steel, the study of harmful substance migration, and the extension of shelf life. By focusing on these areas, ORG aims to achieve international leadership in metal packaging while further ensuring the sustainability, safety, and environmental friendliness of its products.
Chen Ying’s words genuinely inspired the students present. She emphasized the importance of persistence and personal growth, stating, “Being a person and running a company are the same; as long as we persist in striving and focus on our own growth, no matter how we start, maintaining a proactive attitude will surely create a broader future.”
In her closing remarks, Chen Ying highlighted ORG’s commitment to nurturing and developing talent, particularly young and knowledgeable individuals with a global perspective. She encouraged the students to have confidence in the packaging industry and to focus on their studies, continuously enhancing their professional skills in preparation for entering the field. She expressed her hope that the students would make the most of the education and support provided by their school and family, stating, “ORG welcomes every capable student and looks forward to you finding a position in ORG in the future where you can shine.”
